What a trooper!
Poor little Kai has had a rough last month. As soon as we got home from Arizona, we started to find spots that ended up being chicken pox. This picture was taken about half way through. He stayed pretty happy other than a day or two when he had trouble eating because of a couple in his mouth. Other than that and being a little extra wiggley :) he was his happy, smiley self!
Unfortunately, we had to cancel his lip surgery that was scheduled Dec. 4th because they didn't know for sure if he would be over them by then. We are still waiting for a date - hopefully in Jan. for it to be rescheduled. Our plastic surgeon has switched and is now only at Riley North, not downtown, and they have to find a pedodontist that will come and make him a new mouthpiece and ENT to put in tubes while he is under anesthesia for the surgery. We will let everyone know when we have a date (hopefully soon) so that you can all pray for a safe & smooth surgery!
Then a couple weeks later, he came down with an ear infection and a respiratory virus, RSV. He was on breathing treatments and an antibiotic and thankfully got better after about 10 days.
Big sister Makenna is such a good helper. She loves her little "buddy" and is so sweet with him!

Dora Birthday Fiesta
We celebrated the girls birthday with some friends and family and of course their favorite - Dora the Explorer. The pinata was a big hit, as was the cake and ice cream that had been talked about for weeks!
Notice what Makenna's hands were sneaking into. She loves m&m's!
We can't believe our little girls are two and three already. What amazing years they've been!!

Arizona Vacation
This is what it looks like to fly with 3 small children :)
Daddy & Macy at Slide Rock State Park in Sedona. Macy loved hiking up the rocks and she would have just kept going if we had let her.
silly kids!
What a handsome little boy. This was after our Thanksgiving dinner. We've never eaten Thanksgiving outside by the pool & mountains before! Tell me again why we live in IN?
Couple of mountain goats that were climbing around at the Grand Canyon- what a beautiful place. Such an amazing Creator!
Kai taking his first swim. Such a cute little fishy!
Matt & I at the highest place you can drive to in Sedona- another amazing place! Pictures don't begin to do it justice.

These girls loved climbing around on all the rocks and were happy any chance they got to be out of the car. They did enjoy a lot of movies during all the car trips though. Thank goodness for portable DVD players!!
Another happy little hiker :) Too bad our camera somehow got a smudge on it.
Such a fun (& tiring) trip! Thank you grammy & poppa!! We love you!

Birthday Princess Macy goes to Chuck E Cheese
Mommy made me these yummy princess cupcakes. Don't I look beautiful? I was the only princess at Chuck E Cheese if you can believe that..
I love you, you love me, can you believe I'm really 3?

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I said "ride rides, play games, and eat good food," so this is the place for me! ( It was pretty funny that she really said that.)

Makenna admiring her princess ring from her cupcake. She looks like she just got engaged-no way little girl, not for a very long time! :)
This is our Belle/Dorothy outfit - fortunately she has no idea and was thrilled just being dressed like a princess for a night! I think it will get another wear though when we go to Disney's Princess On Ice -thanks Aunt Kristi & Uncle Josh for the tickets. We can't wait! Maybe we'll get Belle shoes for the event - probably not. :)
HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MACY!!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MACY!!Macy's 3rd Birthday-Preschool Party
It so happened that Macy's birthday fell on Tues, the day she goes to preschool so we took mini cupcakes, chocolate with purple icing, at her request and had a little party with her school friends the last 15 minutes. What a big girl!
Makenna joined right in with the class & didn't want to leave- next year Makenna!

You put what in your hair?
So the other day when Macy was supposed to be taking a nap in our room, I went in because I heard her out of bed for the tenth time, and when I looked at her hair, I noticed it had a significant shine. It took me a minute to figure out what on earth was in her hair and she wasn't saying a word, but when I looked at the headboard and saw a tube of lanolin (thicker than vasoline) half gone, I knew what the mystery shine was. It was absolutely caked in her hair! Here is a picture during the bath where she had her hair washed 8 times - 3 with shampoo and 5 with dishsoap - none of which really touched the grease. So she went to the hospital to meet her baby cousin looking like a grease monkey! Mommy was a tad embarrassed - yes I do bathe my children.
When we came home, we tried patting baking soda in her hair.
That didn't work - but she did enjoy a little head massage from dad and felt like she was at the spa!
Finally, after some research on the internet, we turned to Corn Starch - a very thick pat down -

Oh, and Makenna didn't want to be left out from the crazy hair party - hopefully she'll stick with water for styling her hair though!
Another shampoo and Macy was pretty much looking normal, with a little extra shine- hopefully she learned her lesson on that one and won't be trying any new styling products for awhile!

Welcome Baby Owen!

Owen Jay Medley joined our family today at 5:40pm. He weighs 6lbs 9oz and is 19 1/2 in long - just a little guy! He has dark brown hair, although you can't see it - don't worry, more pictures to come! He and mommy and daddy are doing great. We told him he has lots of cousins who can't wait to meet him and play with him!

Makenna's first real haircut
mommy's favorite jammies
My mommy and daddy are so happy - I slept from 10pm to 8am last night!
Kai is getting so big and outgrowing his 0-3 mo clothes, including these jammies that are mommy's favorite. Now we have to pass them on so his little cousin can wear them and be just as cute. He needs to be born first though! :) Very soon hopefully! Kristi is 38 weeks, 1-2cm dilated and doing good other than back pain and the normal "ready to not be pregnant anymore" feelings- I don't know anything about that!
